Travelling by bus is an inexpensive way to explore the city; you can catch the Roehampton shuttle bus for free in our local area, or if you fancy exploring further afield, you can ride the bus in London as many times as you like in a single day for £4.50 if using Pay As You Go with an Oyster Card or contactless bank card.
Here’s our guide to buses to-and-from the University.
Firstly, we strongly recommend downloading the London Travel Free – Bus & Tube app by Routemaster. This will give you live updates on when the next bus is arriving, and will help you to minimise time spent waiting at bus stops.
The Roehampton Shuttle Bus
Roehampton to Barnes Station/Putney Station | Nearest stop to uni: Roehampton Lane | Double-decker
The double-decker service runs every 20 minutes between Danebury Avenue (near the entrance to Whitelands College) and Barnes station, with services to and from Putney station in the mornings and evenings. It is free of charge and does not require an ID card to board. If you are travelling to Hammersmith, getting the shuttle bus service to Barnes Station and changing there will provide you with two different services onwards to Hammersmith – the 72 and the 33 bus routes. The University’s shuttle bus service timetable can be found here.
