You can sit with us | Societies at Roehampton

A new academic year means a whole host of chances for you to enrich your university life. First-years, this is your moment to set the tone for your time with us, and final-years, this is your last window to take advantage of the unique offerings that Roehampton holds.

Do you want to get involved in activities and opportunities while at Roehampton? Do you want to meet more people? Do you want to make the most of your experience at university? You should join a society!

Roehampton offers plenty of ways for you to enjoy student life away from the textbooks. With over fifty societies there is something for everyone, alongside resources and systems in place for anyone wishing to develop new societies or activities. All run by student committees who volunteer to bring these activities to you, they are open to all students, regardless of living on or off campus, or being a fresher or final year student.

Through societies, campaign and peer support groups, the Students’ Union empowers students to make change in their communities. All of these groups run alongside students’ studies and provide a wide array of opportunities to learn new skills, meet more people and have fun. With so many new people to get to know, it’s a great idea to filter through the masses and go straight to a group that will house like-minded people. It’s an experience not to be missed, and will be one of the most exciting and memorable parts of your university experience.

How to get involved

Getting involved in a society is arguably the best way to meet new people, gain new skills and make the most university life – so don’t hesitate to sign up.
