With Results Day just around the corner, we understand that this can be a very stressful time. However, we want to reassure you that this doesn’t have to be the case and whether everything works out as planned or not, there’s always another option.
Whatever your situation, Clearing could help you start your exciting journey to university at Roehampton! So, here are some of our top tips when it comes to Clearing.
Prepare ahead of time
It’s always a great idea to do some research ahead of time into different Universities and courses. Results Day can be daunting but if you don’t happen to get the grades you were hoping for, it’s always reassuring to know that you have already done your research into what other options for University are available.
Ahead of the day, it’s also a good idea to have all of your information ready for the phone call. This includes:
- Your UCAS ID number if you have one (don’t worry, we can help you even if you are not already in the UCAS system).
- A list of your qualifications (including GCSEs) and the grades you achieved in each.
- The title of the course you are interested in.
Finally, we recommend doing some research to learn and understand how the Clearing process will work. Head over to the Clearing page on our website here to find out everything you need to know.
Get advice from your support network
Don’t forget that your friends and family are always there to help you and offer advice. If you’re unsure about how you’re feeling about something, talking it through with someone can help make your thoughts a little clearer and guide you through the next steps. You can also chat to some of our friendly students via a live online chat here, to get a feel for what like at Roehampton might be like!
If you’re still unsure on what exactly it is you’re looking for in a course and University, don’t feel the need to rush into any decisions or phone calls. Instead, we have a call back form where you can choose when you would like us to give you a call back. Simply fill in the form here and one our friendly team members will be in touch with you, as per your request, to talk through your options. This is a great option for if you feel like you need to do that little bit of extra research before making some calls!
Alternatively, you can fill in our self referral form where you simply enter your grades and desired course, and we will get back to you to let you know if we can offer you a place.
Remember, everyone wants you to succeed
Remember that everyone has your best interests at heart and wants you to succeed. Although you may not be going to the University you had initially planned to go to, we’re here to help you find your dream course, achieve your best and go on to find the perfect career path for you.
If you already have your results and you are looking for a place before 13 August, please call our Clearing line from 8.30am on 6 July, as we may be able to help.
Nikhil’s Clearing journey…
It’s easy to feel like things haven’t gone to plan if you’re going through Clearing, but it’s worth remembering that everything will work out, even if it isn’t in the way you had originally planned.
My time at Roehampton was the best three years of my life and I am so glad that I went through Clearing.
