Hi there! I’m Victoria, a third-year Media and Communications student at the University of Roehampton. Join me as I walk you through a day in my life as a Roehampton student, where every moment is filled with excitement.

My day typically begins with a walk to campus, conveniently located just across the street from my London flat. The first order of business? My oat milk americano from the Hive to get my morning started. With caffeine in hand, I make my way to either my 10 am dissertation seminar or my International Challenges in the Media class in the new David Bell building, eager to dive into the world of media studies.

After a morning of classes, it’s time for a well-deserved lunch break with my roommates. One is an Education Studies student, while the other is a Digital Media student! We are all American international students and share stories, laughs, and enjoy the company that comes with living together in a new city.

In the afternoon, you’ll often find me in the university library, where I usually retreat to one of the private study rooms to focus on my dissertation. I’m currently creating a website entitled “MindfulMedia ” exploring the impact that social media holds on women’s mental health. The library holds a special place in my heart; its peaceful and vast selection of resources provide the perfect place for academic growth and a calm environment.

But life at Roehampton isn’t just work with no play! My friends and I are making the most out of our last year at uni. We love to unwind in Putney or go to a karaoke night at our Union Bar! These moments of fun serve as a reminder to embrace the whole university life, where life extends way beyond the classroom.
