5 healthy ways to kick-start your 2020

Starting the new year in a healthy way is so important not only for your physical and mental health, but also for productivity. Here are some of the ways in which you can kick-start the new year in a healthy way.

Gym Roehampton

Gym Roehampton is the University’s on-campus gym and is a great way to get active this year. As well as the gym equipment, there will be the Les Mills Virtual classes which are open to anyone with a membership or on a pay-as-you-go basis.

There is currently a New Year offer where you can get a 6-month membership for£85 so don’t miss out!

Sport Roehampton

There are so many sports clubs at Roehampton and it’s not too late to join. Get in contact with Sport Roehampton, or a specific sports club, to find out where and when they train and how you can get involved. Here’s a quick snap of our women’s rugby team in action!

Active in 2020

The ‘Active in 2020’ campaign by Sport Roehampton will be back in January for the third year running to promote the importance and benefits of being physically active. The campaign will run from 20 to 31 January 2020 and there will be lots to get involved with including:

  • Free classes and taster sessions
  • Social sport activities
  • Gym and sport membership deals
  • Prizes
  • Challenges
  • Group walks
  • Outdoor classes

Roehampton Mile

The Roehampton Mile is a mile-long route around campus which is a great way of getting in your daily exercise while making the most of our wonderful parkland campus. Check out the route below and try it for yourself:

Richmond Park

With Richmond Park located right by the University, it is a great place to go in-between classes for a run, walk or cycle. The park is huge with beautiful views and lots of deer – to get there, just head straight down Clarence Lane!
