Roehampton Climate Network Launch

Humanity is facing an existential crisis as a result of ongoing environmental damage and destruction.

One of the most urgent manifestations of this crisis is in the climate emergency, an issue that is now at the forefront of policy-making across the world. The House of Commons’ Climate Assembly indicates that the public is ahead of government on the sort of action they want to see, with 90% supporting better investment in public transport and 80% calling for higher taxes on aviation.

What can we do as an academic community to be part of the solution? By coming together, sharing our knowledge and insights, and committing to positive action for change, we hope to inform people about the nature of the crisis we’re in and join them in finding ways to a more positive future. This is the purpose of the Roehampton Climate Network that we are now launching.

The University of Roehampton changes lives by helping our students to develop the confidence, knowledge and values they need for a successful and fulfilling life. We produce world-class research that helps us understand the world and change it for the better.
