A Deep Dive into the “Report and Support” Lifeline

The University of Roehampton has an ironclad promise to not just educate, but also to protect, respect, and uplift every student wandering its leafy paths. At the core of this promise lies a powerful tool: the “Report and Support” initiative. This initiative is seen across a multitude of universities across the United Kingdom, and it is our responsibility as members of the Roehampton Community to uplift and use Report and Support as a tool to create a safer university experience for all.

What’s Report and Support?

Imagine having a guardian angel in your pocket. That’s “Report and Support” for you. It is an innovative, digital guardian designed to offer a confidential, secure haven where students and staff can report any form of misconduct. We’re talking harassment, discrimination, bullying, and sexual assault and more. But it’s not just about reporting; it’s about opening a door to a world of support, advice, and resources aimed at healing the emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical scars left by these incidents.

How It Works:

With user-friendliness at its heart, the platform is accessible online 24/7, offering two pathways: go anonymous or share your details for a tailored support journey. Opting for anonymity helps the university grasp the campus vibe, contributing to a safer community vibe. On the flip side, sharing your details connects you with the university’s dedicated support team, ready to assist and craft a support plan specifically for you.

Our Support System:

Once you hit “submit” on your report, our support team will be notified. They dive into your report, reaching out with a toolkit of support and resources. This can include counselling, mediation, advice on academic or legal worries – all designed to empower you, giving you the reins on how to move forward, be it a formal battle or seeking a peaceful resolution.

We understand – talking about these issues is tough. That’s why we have the option of confidentiality around your report. Your safety, your well-being, and your peace of mind stand as our top priorities, ensuring a process that’s as stress-free as possible.

“Report and Support” isn’t just a tool; it’s a cultural revolution. It’s our loud, proud statement of our dedication to a campus that’s safe, inclusive, and respectful. It’s an acknowledgment of the murky waters of sensitive issues and a clear, strong hand extended to everyone in the Roehampton Community to help navigate them.

Initiatives like this only work if we band together. We need our whole community to stand with “Report and Support.” Report an incident, seek support, or simply soak in what’s available. It’s a collective journey where the university isn’t just a place for academics but a sanctuary of safety and support for all.

“Report and Support” at Roehampton University isn’t just an initiative; it’s a lifeline. It’s a testament to our proactive stride towards a campus that’s not only about achieving academic excellence but also about fostering a secure, supportive, and respectful environment. By embracing and engaging with this initiative, every student and staff member can become a foundation in the university’s unwavering commitment to safety, well-being, and inclusivity.
