The 12th–16th May marks Mental Health Awareness Week, and here at the University of Roehampton, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight the ongoing work of our Support Services and the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing.
Throughout the week, our Support Services Instagram (@roesupport) will be running a Community Challenge. Each day, we’ll encourage students to take part in small, positive actions that help build connection, boost mood, and strengthen our sense of belonging at university. Whether it’s starting a conversation, joining a society event, or simply checking in with a friend — these daily prompts are all about finding meaningful moments in our community.
Mental Health Awareness Week also serves as a reminder that you are never alone. Our Support Services are here for all students, no matter the issue — whether you’re dealing with stress, personal difficulties, or just need someone to talk to. We offer a range of resources, including wellbeing support, counselling, financial advice, and academic guidance.
Louise Baddeley, Head of Wellbeing, said: “We’re always active in our community, spreading the word about wellbeing support as we want every student to know that support is here when they need it. Mental Health Awareness Week is a great time to highlight that connection and care are at the heart of everything we do.”
