What is it about the Sport and Exercise Science course at Roehampton that drew you to choose to study here?
Looking at the Roehampton University website and visually being able to see the resources in person really influenced me to come to Roehampton. Having the university a 5 minute distance from where I live and a course that I am so passionate about really drove me to study here.
Why do you think accreditations matter when choosing a degree, and how did they influence your decision to study at Roehampton?
Accreditations to me matter because it demonstrates your knowledge of content being taught at Roehampton. When applying to study at Roehampton University, I wanted to be able to gain these accreditations to use in order to make a difference to people’s lives. Part of Roehampton University and what they are about is making a difference and going that extra mile, that to me is a factor in why I decided to study at Roehampton.
Have you had the opportunity to get involved in any research projects during your degree? If so, what was the experience like and what did you learn from it?
I have been able to get involved in creating content for the Sport and Exercise Science department. I really enjoyed it and it was fascinating to help out and be a good ambassador for my course. I have learnt hands-on experience about different pieces of equipment / machinery. The experience I had was positive.
How has the timetable and course structure helped you balance your studies with part-time work, sport or other commitments?
The structure of the course has enabled me to develop skills of responsibility and time-management. I have been able to balance my studies with work and sport commitments by taking one step at a time and I really thank the way the course has been structured.
Have you engaged with Roehampton’s Careers Service during your studies? If so, how has it helped you prepare for placements, graduate opportunities or your future career?
I have looked into the Roehampton Careers Service. They have been extremely helpful in providing opportunities for the career line that I would like to go down (the education route). They provide many platforms and clear guidance so I applaud the Career Service for their efforts.
Looking back on your time at Roehampton so far, what has been the most rewarding part of your university experience?
When I look back on my time at Roehampton, it has been amazing to see my development and growth as a young adult. Growing up, school life felt difficult to adhere to and the experience was not positive so I never thought I would get this opportunity to study at one of the best universities in the country. I am extremely thankful to everyone from staff and students at this university for making me feel welcomed and can not wait to continue and end this 3-year chapter on a really high note.
