10 key dates of the final semester

Summer is here, and with it comes the final semester of 18/19 and a whole host of events. From College football matches to black tie dinners, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the last months of this incredible academic year. Have a read through, make notes in your diary, and come celebrate with us! See you there!

April 28th | Summer Ball Launch

To kick off the excitement, head down to the Union and Monte Hall for the big reveal – who will headline Summer Ball? Online tickets will also go on sale simultaneously, so make sure to nab one before they run out!

April 29th | Final Grand

Dress up and enjoy the last Grand of the year. Hop on the free bus from Grove House to Clapham and enjoy a night of dancing on the stage of an old theatre. Grab some props and a few friends and head over to the photo booth inside to commemorate the occasion too – tag #WeAreUR for a chance to be reposted.

May 11th | May Day

Crowning the new May Queen or King, this day starts with a beautiful service celebrating students past and present. Held at our longest-running college, this celebration of Whitelands fundraises for charity and is not to be missed.

May 11th | Froebel v Digby

Arguably the ultimate college rivalry, Digby and Froebel go head to head in their annual football match at Sutton FC. Starting with the infamous water fight, this event is a decades-old Roehampton tradition that shouldn’t be missed.

May TBC | Southlands v Whitelands

Whitelands and Southlands battle it out on the football pitch to prove their worth in this annual match. Held on Parkstead House lawn, come down to support the men’s and women’s teams’ matches.

May 22nd | Final Le Fez

Enjoy the last Le Fez of the year in neighbouring Putney. Make the most of the free transport from Grove House and enjoy the newly renovated club just a few minutes down the road.

May 24th | College Cup Finale

College rivalries ramp up in this final attempt at winning the coveted College Cup Trophy. Expect the traditional inflatables and plenty of bizarre games to decide the winner of the College Cup. Wear your college colours and show some college spirit!

May 24th | Final BOP

Let your hair down at the last BOP of the year. It’s tradition for final year students to don their first-year UV BOP top, and to run the infamous lake dash afterwards…

May 28th | RSU Awards

Whether nominated for an award or not, the RSU Awards are a glam way to reflect on the year in style. Enjoy a formal dinner and make the most of the excuse to dress up while celebrating the students and staff that make Roehampton the wonderful place that it is.

June 1st | Summer Ball

This is it: the big one. Celebrate in style at the biggest event on Roehampton’s calendar. Summer Ball is the place to be, so don’t miss out. Incredible food, live music from top artists (last year included Professor Green, Ella Eyre and Lethal Bizzle), a funfair and plenty more are all promised, so make sure to get your tickets when they drop on April 28th.
