International Women’s Day at Roehampton

International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on the 8 March. This year, we are hosting a week of events for staff and students to interact with.

This will include the RSU Women’s Conference, exercise classes and panels. We will also be sharing content across the University and Roehampton Students’ Union social media platforms.

Please explore and contribute throughout the week to this Padlet board led by our fantastic Chaplaincy team.

We also have a special online exhibition celebrating a small selection of female alumnae through the years, with the aim to inspire our students, staff and alumni. You can view the wonderful exhibition here.

Find out below what events are taking place for students to celebrate International Women’s Day.

RSU Women’s Conference – 8 March, 2-4pm

Join me, your Gender Equality Officer on 8th of March 2021 to celebrate International Women’s Day at Roehampton (virtually of course!).

This year we will be joined by Farrah, the RSU president to hear about her work on period poverty, as well as Maria Purcell who leads commercial partnerships at Facebook, who will be discussing shaping your future career as a female in an ever-changing environment. We will also be joined by other friendly faces, including Danielle (Sport President) from Sport and Active Communities and Mars (trans students officer) to discuss gender equality and the LGBTQI+ community.

Come along to learn about cycle tracking and how you can embrace your womanhood and make it work with you.

Gender balance is not solely a women’s issue, but also an economic issue so everyone is welcome. Everyone has a role in forging gender parity and we look forward to seeing you on the 8th!
