Meet Our Counselling Team

The Counselling Team provide confidential, solution-focussed therapy for students who are struggling with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

Our counsellors bring a wealth of experience to the team, using different modalities including psychodynamic, transactional analysis, integrative and cognitive-behavioural therapy. We assess each student’s needs carefully and try to match everyone with the most suitable counsellor in terms of training background and experience.

If you have a preference regarding which kind of counsellor you would like to work with, we encourage you to let us know at the time of referral. If you are interested in counselling, we encourage you to have a conversation with one of our Student Wellbeing Officers (SWO) in the first instance. The reason for this is because Student Support Services offers a range of different support and the SWO’s are able to help guide you to get the right support to meet your specific needs. However, if you are certain that counselling is the right choice than you’re welcome to self-refer:  You can self-refer to the service via our online referral form.
