10 ways Roehampton can support you with your career that you might not know about

 #1 – CareerLink

CareerLink is the University’s one stop shop for everything you need to help you at any stage of your career – access CV and application tools, support preparing for interviews, free online skills courses, information guides, guidance appointments, events, and much more. CareerLink is also available as an App!

#2 – CV360

Use CV360 to build your CV from scratch or get instant feedback on an existing CV – go to CareerLink and choose CV360 from the ‘Career Tools’ menu.

#3 – Careers Advisors

Need some help figuring out your next career steps? Book an appointment with the Careers team! You can access one-to-one advice appointments with Careers Advisors, as well as mock interviews and CV and application checks. Book on CareerLink or email careers@roehampton.ac.uk.

#4 – Exclusive Online Jobs Board

Did you know there is an online jobs board exclusive for Roehampton students and graduates? Search for part time jobs, permanent roles, internships, placements, graduate schemes and more.

#5 – Mentoring

Connect with experienced professionals to receive one-to-one careers advice, expand your personal networks and develop skills to help boost your career. Mentoring opportunities are open to all students and alumni through our online networking platform, Roehampton Connect. Active mentors are available on the platform now and sign up takes a matter of minutes. For any queries or guidance please contact mentoring@roehampton.ac.uk.

#6 – Careers Events

Roehampton runs a large and varied number of careers events all year round. Right now, you can browse and book onto the Summer Term Programme. This ten-week virtual programme will give you a head start in today’s competitive graduate job market through a blend of short courses, webinars, workshops and one-to-one sessions.

#7 – Postgraduate Certificate in Person and Professional Development

When you graduate, you will have access to a specially designed Postgraduate Certificate in Personal and Professional Development, which focuses on the development and enhancement of the high-level skills and attributes required to pursue a graduate-level career within the workplace. The online programme starts on 1 September, is applicable to recent graduates of any discipline and costs just £350, redeemable when taken alongside a master’s programme at Roehampton within 12 months.

#8 – LinkedIn

When you graduate, you will be invited to a LinkedIn group to network with other graduates from your year group, and to get regular updates from the Careers team about jobs, opportunities, events and much more. Class of 2020 – join here. Class of 2021 – join here.

#9 – The Roehampton Internship Scheme

The Roehampton Internship Scheme provides a range of work experience opportunities with small to medium-sized businesses throughout the year, for all students (including postgraduate students and graduates). The Roehampton Graduate Internship Scheme is a new programme for recent alumni. To register your interest or find out more about these schemes, please email internships@roehampton.ac.uk.

#10 – Stay Up To Date

15 months after you have finished your course, you will be invited to take part in the Graduate Outcomes Survey. This is the biggest annual social survey in the UK that captures the perspectives and current status of recent graduates. The survey aims to help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development and gives you the opportunity to influence the future of education. Make sure your contact details are up to date when you graduate so you can take part!
