Josh Mason | Roehampton’s Sports Management student racing in Indy NXT this season

Sports Management student Josh Mason is racing in Indy NXT this season. He was recently in the studio on campus for a photo shoot to launch his new helmet artwork. You can watch Josh in the Indy NXT series on SkySports this season.

Josh is a third-year Sports Management student at the University of Roehampton, combining his studies with a career in motorsport. Josh began racing go-karts at age 14 before progressing through the ranks and demonstrating his considerable talent and skills on track.

During his first and second years at Roehampton, Josh was racing in EuroFormula Open, winning races in the Hungaroring, Spa and Monza. Josh jumped into a seat in Formula 2 in the 2023 season, driving for PHM Racing alongside Roy Nissany for the final 4 rounds of the F2 Championship.

Josh has since made the move across-the-pond to the Indy NXT series, taking a seat with Abel Motorsports, alongside team-mates Jacob Abel and Yuvan Sundaramoorthy.

In his maiden race in St. Petersburg, FL, on a challenging street circuit, Josh demonstrated promising pace in the car, before a gearbox issue forced an early retirement.

As a Sports Scholar and global ambassador for the university, we’re excited to watch Josh progress in the competition this season, and you can watch all of his races on the Sky Sports F1 channel.
