How to make the most of Careers Fair | CareerFest

Our annual Careers Fair takes place during CareerFest, which is a 4 day festival of events and workshops to inspire you to explore career options and find out what support is available to you throughout your time at Roehampton. CareerFest will be taking place from 28-31 October and the Careers Fair will be on Tuesday 29 October, from 11am-3pm in the Library Foyer.

Plan your time

Before attending any careers fair, it’s worth having a look at which employers will be there so that you can plan your time carefully and decide who to speak to in advance. Check out the list of who will be attending below:

Research employers

Once you have decided who you want to speak to, make sure you take a look at their website in advance to find out more about them, and see if they have any schemes or work experience opportunities for students that you nay want to ask them about.

Prepare some questions

If you aren’t sure how to approach an employer, it can be a good idea to prepare some questions in advance. Here are some good topics to ask employers about:

Network

If you’ve been speaking to an employer and would like to find out more, it’s fine to ask them for their email address. They will probably have a business card they can give you, or you can connect with them in LinkedIn. Either way, don’t be afraid to follow up with any contacts you have made, as it could lead to a full-time job when you graduate, or a work experience opportunity while you’re studying.
